Honest Abe
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the U.S., the 4th image on Mt Rushmore,
South Dakota and the subject of this Rushmore Portrait Bear.

He is a 15” tall mohair teddy, 5-way jointed, with LocLine armature, an embroidered nose,
glass eyes, leather pads and stuffed with polyfiber.

He has spent almost 25 years on my studio shelves and is looking for his new home.

His stove pipe hat, cotton shirt, satin vest
and tailored wool suit complete his iconic appearance.

Abe is number 19 of 20 from the original 1997 limited edition.
Pristine condition, signed, tagged and numbered.

Joan, the bear in a cardboard armor outfit, was made around 1988 when I had to commit
a completely made typical bear to pass he rigors of Pennsylvania State
regulatory safety-testing.

Having been told that it would, among other insults, the bears' fur would be burned,
I decided to call her Joan of Arc -who would be burned at the stake.

She did ‘for-bear’ a little burning of materials, and additional indignities, but survived.

Joan is a fully jointed, bent legged mohair and leather bear with glass eyes.

She has an embroidered nose and stuffed with polyfiber.

Her cardboard armor and sword were airbrushed by my talented son.
